Main Task - Research and Planning

I am focusing on researching different music magazines to come up with ideas of my own.

I have started off by looking at a classic magazine 'ClassicFm' The magazine its self is fairly simplistic with a few images to keep the audience interested. The simplicity of this magazine appeals to its target audience by making the fonts easy to read and fairly larger than other popular magazines. This is so an older age range are able to read the magazine successfully. This type of market is lower in the industry and classic music is mostly prefered by older age ranges.

This magazine is also very simplistic but it seems more modern because of the model in the background. Although this is slightly similar to 'ClassicFm' the fonts are smaller and slightly thicker. The colours are strictly black and white which makes the cover look clean and fresh looking

In this 'VIBE' Magazine the fonts and overall look of the cover is much harsher than the covers of 'ClassicFm" and 'NME' this is because of the red coloured fonts, and the image represented which connotes rebellion. The Singers head overlaps the Title as well as some text. The magazine seems more up market due to the un cluttered layout.

This 'TOPOFTHEPOPS' magazine is fairly different to the other magazines i have researched. This is due to the lower market aspect, this is the case as the language used is focused around younger people. There are more images to keep the audience occupied also. The colours range from pinks to purples and red's. This makes the magazine look slightly cluttered.

This magazine is very different to all the other magazines as it is quite cluttered with its layout. It has large text above the title which could become confusing and unclear. Text is used in various sizes to create depth. The colours focus around white and grey to contrast with the dark background.
