Main Task: Research and Planning, deeper look into NME magazine
I am going to focus on the different aspect of layout NME have used to create an effective cover.
The cover uses a Sans Serif font with a colour scheme of black and white. Different text is used in bolder font to bring attention to the statement, with grey text being 'less important'. The two images of men denotes two young adults with long brown hair making surprised and happy faces, there faces are cropped out for effect. This connotes a slight playful and informal side to the magazine.
Various Puffs are used to grab the readers attention, some of the text is on the outside of the circular shape which creates dimensions and interest. The text inside the shapes are more interesting than the formal 'Ariel' font. This adds to the playfulness of the magazine.
The font used also suggests a sense of the 60's and the retro era which has been very popular and successful within the media and pattern.
