Main task: Cover problems
I have had some problems with my cover font. I originally wanted a font I have previously posted onto my blog. Although when I tried to download this it wouldn't work so I have had to use another font for a substitute. The font i am now using doesn't do quite what I want it to do.. and that's to have a bit of white pattern in it but it still gives a retro-feel to the magazine.

Main Task:Planning, Costume

The dress to the left is a simple black dress which will most likely get featured within the magazine due to its glamourous appeal. The dress to the right has one long sleeve and a retro like pattern, this fits well with the audience and genre.

The skirt to the left is long at the back and short at the front to draw in interest. The top to the right is a very vintage like design with its long sleeves and ruffles.

Main Task: Planning, Location
I have been constantly thinking of different locations, i have many ideas such as:
-Friends modern lounge- with pastel blue sofas and large window backgrounds. (I would have my model sat on the sofa wearing a black dress crossed slightly for a classy look. The model will be looking directly into the camera lens.)
-Garden chair and table- This set of chairs and a table have a old white vintage look to them, i could have my model sat outside with a warm coat on maybe surrounded with leaves to create the look of winter for the season.
-My bath- This idea seems slightly odd but i would lay my model in a black glamours dress and surround her head with rose petals suggesting relaxation and comfort, the idea is out of the ordinary which may intrigue readers.
-Landscape- I will take my model onto a hill top on sunset and allow them to stand on a windy night with a flawy dress to capture a beautiful scene, suggesting a free spirit.
-Pattern- I may stand my model in front of a white screen, which i can then later photoshop a vintage styles pattern look onto the background painted by myself.
For group photos within the magazine i will may use any of these locations to suggests elegance and style, the models will be holding props such as microphones or guitars.
Main task: Planning, Colour scheme
This pallet of colours is what i will refer to when doing my magazine. The colours within this pallet are soft and light which relates to my target audience, these colours are not harsh on the eyes and all blend rather well together.
I will choose at maximum three colours for on my cover, contents and double page spread. I will try keep the colours the same with different tones so the magazine has its own style which can be recognised easily.
To keep the magazine looking fresh i will only stick to these three colours, i am going to stay away from lots dark colours as this can steer my magazine into a different type of audience. Pastel pinks and purples may be a bit to gender appropriate so i will try and focus on different colours so get the desired affect.
Vintage styled colours seem to be quite 'dusty' in tone, with other colours within them. Lighter colours seemed to be favoured within the vintage times.
To increase effect i may use some metal like colours such as silver, this is to create the illusion of the old microphones singers used to use to give a cutting edge and simplistic effect to the covers.

Main Task: Planning, Fonts
I decided on the name of my magazine to be 'Vintage Sound' As i believe this fit's perfectly with my genre of music and niche audience. I love the fourth font down, i think the slight serif font gives it a slight sophisticated look whilst still looking crisp and unique. The slight pattern within the letters gives the font a feminine look to it without being to young natured.
Main Task: Planning, Models and props

I decided to use these girls as they are all willing to model within the magazine.
Left-Amy Hemsly
Right-Eleanor Kenny
Bottom- Natasha Gardner
Props i may include may be items such as holy, a fake microphone or old leaves. The holly and leaves may feature to represent the time of month and time that the magazine would come out, the microphone would be used to suggest that the model is a old famous singer to intrigue the readers.

Main Task: Planning, Photographs

I would like my cover to feature a quirky styled classy singer, i will use one of my models to sit in my chosen location with different props to bring the photo together.
This photograph of the band Beriut is very simple yet effective because all the band members are smiling. I want this to be the same case with my magazine to represent a friendly and casual feel throughout.

This Gloria Gaynor photograph is one of my favourites and is what i would like to incorporate into my magazine cover and double pages. The way in which Gaynor is stood and what she is wearing gives a feeling of class, her clothing also represents a retro feel.
I am still uncertain whether i want a plain background for my front cover so the readers are focused on the main model of the cover, although the idea of a background draws the readers in and enables them to relate to the location.
